Big Update On The RAW Rumor, More On The Rock
To clear up all the “hype” that’s been going around about this Christian/Rock rumor for RAW, it appears that certain “journalists” need to read up on all the facts. As I stated, there was a rumor going around on Slam!, stating that Christian could be “The Rock” on RAW. It seemed, and still does seem unlikely, as WWE has already promoted The Rock as being there, as a way to get troops to show up at the show for free.

And, just to clear up something else, The Rock heads to Vancouver in a few weeks to begin shooting Walking Tall. The movie is not being shot in Hollywood (many films are not), just to clear up some naive word that’s going around.

Commercials being ran confirming Rock to be in San Diego
The Rock is being advertised as making a return to Raw on June 2nd in San Diego on local T.V. They are running commercials saying “get ready San Diego, The Rock is Returning. Be there live June 2nd at the San Diego sports arena for RAW”

Soldiers can see Rock for free Monday in San Diego
WWE, in celebration of Memorial Day and the return of U.S. military personnel, is offering free tickets to RAW this Monday night in San Diego. Free tickets will be provided to all U.S. military personnel in uniform who come to the Sports Arena Box Office on the day of the event. It has been announced that The Rock will be there!

Hurricane Talks about Rock
As far as my wrestling career goes, whew, what a ride these last few
months
have been. My TV program with The Rock was just a fantastic piece of
business for everyone involved. From our first promo together, to our
match
on RAW, the whole deal was just too sweet for words for me. The Rock is
without a doubt in my mind, the single most entertaining persona in the
history of our business, and being given the opportunity to work with
him
was the equivalent to stepping up to home plate with the bases loaded
and
the game depending on me! I felt that the match went great, the
C-C-Cleveland crowd didn’t think I had a chance in hell but cheered for
me
anyway, Rock was in rare form that night going so far as to wear my
cape
which kinda gave him that 70′s gay Robin look which not many people
could
pull off, and when the three count happened the place went crazy! It
was
awesome. But to be honest the best part of it all, was seeing how many
of
the boys in the back had stayed around (we usually leave before the
show
ends to beat the traffic) just to watch the match and to be there for
me
when it was over. It was a really special night for me that my friends,
my
good friends, made that much better. Can you feel the love?

The Riddler jams on THE RUN-DOWN aka HELLDORADO aka… well it’ll never end…
Hey folks, Harry here with a second look at the Rock’s upcoming film with Christopher Walken. Of all the titles, I’ve been fondest of HELLDORADO, and think that RUN DOWN is the worst of the lot so far.. but hey, whatever… The following review has fairly intense spoilers because the writer has very strong feelings about the choices they made in this film… So read, only if you want to know…

Last night in Horton Plaza, San Diego (May 19th), I got to see a sneak preview of Christopher Walken’s latest film, “The Run-Down” which I have learned after going to the IMDb is like the 3rd time it’s title has been changed. “Helldorado and Welcome to the Jungle” were the others. The lady who introduced the film sid that this was the title now.

Basic plot:

The Rock, (oh yeah, the WWE produced this film…that got chuckles from all who watch wrestling) is a hired gun who always gets his man. He is hired for one last job before he can go free from his contract and that job is to find the son of his boss who (even though it’s not explained) I assume has pissed off the wrong people. His son, played so-so by Seann William Scott is a college drop out who is looking for a long lost priceless treasure called the Gato. (Sp?)

Release Date Note on Welcome to The Jungle now known as The Run-down or whatever they are calling it now: (5/18/03) Over the last few weeks, the other movies that had been scheduled for September 26th, 2003 have quietly moved away, leaving this newest movie starring The Rock all by itself, while the other weekend in September and early October are quite crowded. Is this a sign that the other studios see this as the one movie that they shouldn’t try opening up against in the early fall?

Ashley Scott and Kristen Wilson fill MGM ‘Tall’ order

Ashley Scott and Kristen Wilson have nabbed the female leads in MGM’s updated version of the 1973 actioner “Walking Tall” for director Kevin Bray and Hyde Park Entertainment. Shooting is scheduled to start in July. “Walking Tall” centers on a Tennessee sheriff (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson) and his one-man mission to remove corruption from his county. Neal McDonough also stars as Hamilton, the main nemesis to Johnson’s character and the man at the center of the corruption. Scott will play the sheriff’s love interest in the small town, and Wilson will play his sister. David Klass wrote the update of the project. Hyde Park Entertainment’s Ashok Amritraj and Mandeville Films’ David Hoberman are producing “Walking Tall” with Lucas Foster and Jim Burke. Keith Samples is executive producing the project. Scott, repped by UTA, Original Management’s Jonathan Perry and attorney Marcy Morris, is best known for her role on the short-lived WB Network series “Birds of Prey.” She recently completed a role in Columbia Pictures’ “S.W.A.T.” and the indie horror film “Trespassing.” Wilson, repped by the Gersh Agency and Sanders Armstrong, is best known for her role as Eddie Murphy’s wife in the “Dr. Dolittle” franchise. She most recently appeared in “Confessions of a Dangerous Mind” and as a recurring character on the television series “The District” and “Crossing Jordan.”
