The Philadelphia Inquirer posted the following this
morning on a casting call for The Rock’s upcoming movie ‘Gridiron Gang’:

Mike Lemon Casting is looking for three young male actors
- ages 18 to 22 – to play rough-around-the-edges high school football players in
the film Gridiron Gang. The flick, starring the Rock, is to go before cameras in
L.A. on May 23. The open calls will take place at Mike Lemon Casting this Thursday 4/28 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.at 413 North 7th Street, Suite 602 in Philadelphia, PA.

The special features on the disc almost make-up for the sub-par movie. Almost. In addition to a standard ?making-of? documentary piece (which you?ll want to skip if you didn?t like the movie), there are five ?Up-Close? featurettes, which offer in-depth looks into the five subjects: John and Uma?s dance sequence, The Rock, Andr? 3000 (a highlight ? he spends the entire time complaining about his character?s wardrobe), Cedric the Entertainer and Milian. There are also twelve deleted scenes included on the disc, as well as two alternate cuts of scenes that were in the film. Let?s just say you didn?t miss anything. The Gag Reel piece, a string of bloopers and outtakes set to music, was much more fun. Finally, music fans rejoice ? there?s an included full-length version of the music video, ?You Ain?t Woman Enough To Take My Man,? starring The Rock. Loretta Lynn, eat your heart out!

Stuart Beattie will rewrite Spy-Hunter, a video-game film adaptation that will star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, with John Woo directing for Universal Pictures, Variety reported. Beattie received story credit on Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. Universal licensed the game from Midway, the trade paper reported.

Spy-Hunter is being eyed as a potential 2006 summer tentpole if production can get under way this year. Previously drafts of the Spy script were written by writing teams Michael Brandt and Derek Haas, as well as Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, the trade paper reported.

Producers on the project include Woo, his producing partner Terence Chang, Chuck Gordon and Adrian Askarieh. Neal Moritz and Marty Adelstein are executive-producing.
