I have posted 2 separate articles below:
A look back at Dwayne’s 2005 movies
Courtesy of The Miami Herald.com they take a look at films of the year including Dwayne’s :
Best good sport: Dwayne ”The Rock” Johnson, effectively spoofing his tough-guy persona in Be Cool and playing a surprise villain in Doom.
Mass. film industry wants piece of The Rock
courtesy of the Boston Herald:
Far be it for us to spill the beans on anything, but word?s out that producers from Walt Disney Pictures are eyeing the Bay State for ?Daddy?s Girl,? a $50 million family comedy starring The Rock.
We hear that Mickey?s movie peeps, who were lured here by the newly passed film tax incentive package, would begin shooting here in March should Massachusetts get the nod.
Mark Drago of the Mass. Sports & Entertainment Commission said he?s spoken with the producers of the film and that the commonwealth is a front-runner as a filming locale.
?I?m thrilled that all the Legislature?s hard work over the past year appears to be paying off,? Drago told the Track. ?The film industry in Massachusetts is about to receive a much-needed shot in the arm.?
No kidding. If the tax incentive package was around last year, ?The Departed? director, Martin Scorsese, would have shot all of his Boston Irish mob flick here instead of spending most of his movie bucks in the Big Apple where pols granted him tons of tax immunity!
In ?Daddy?s Girl,? The Rock (aka Dwayne Johnson) will star as a trash-talkin? NFL party boy whose charmed celebrity life gets sacked when a 5-year-old girl turns up ? bearing a birth certificate with his name on it.
Think ?Baby Boom? meets ?The Pacifier.?
The feel-good flick is being developed by Gordon Gray and Mark Giardi, who also produced a pair of other Disney flicks ? ?Miracle? and ?The Rookie.? Kathryn Price, a writer for the short-lived reality TV series ?The Mole,? and Nichole Millard wrote the screenplay.
So, as always, do stay tuned.
