I posted a link to a video of Dwayne appearing on The Rachel Ray Show on January 22, 2010 to promote his film the “Tooth Fairy” He does “This or That” with Rachel Ray.
Muscular star talks about appearing on ‘Family Guy’ and the new workout that has him bigger than ever.
LOS ANGELES — Now that Arnold Schwarzenegger has been lost to the world of politics, it’s hard to imagine an ongoing Hollywood success story as remarkable as that of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Beginning his career in the unlikeliest of places — the wrestling ring — Johnson has been able to overcome his muscle-bound stigma to become a star of action movies (“The Rundown”), family films (“Race to Witch Mountain”) and comedies (his appearances on “Saturday Night Live” have yielded many instant-classic moments).
This weekend, he returns with “Tooth Fairy,” a fun-loving family flick that casts the big man as a hockey player forced to wear wings and collect the incisors of small children. It’s the type of silly flick Ah-nuld would have relished in his early-’90s “Junior” period and one that Johnson similarly hopes will expand his range.
Recently, we sat down to talk about tooth fairies, “Family Guy,” his new muscles and everything else the Rock has cooking.
MTV: Dwayne, the image on the poster for “Tooth Fairy” says it all: “Come see the Rock in a tutu.” But was there something more here that made you want to make this film?
Dwayne Johnson: Yeah, when this came across my desk, I wasn’t gonna let it go. Sometimes scripts come across, and you’re like, “You know, I could let that one go; maybe someone else could do it.” But not this. It’s special. A funny, funny, funny movie. And also, we had the great opportunity of creating [the first onscreen manifestation of] an iconic figure that’s been around forever. Continue reading »

Dwayne stopped by Sports Illustrated to promote his film the “Tooth Fairy” and believe it or not he is coming back to Raw to host!!
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson stars in Tooth Fairy, opening this Friday. SI.com’s Jimmy Traina recently spoke to Johnson about the movie industry, wrestling, his time at The U and much more.
SI.com: The wrestling crowd, who were fans of “The Rock”, now see you playing a tooth fairy. Tell those people why they should go see you in this movie.
Johnson: Oh, that’s very easy. The intention in 1999 was to entertain. My intention in 2005 was to entertain. My intention in 2010, as the tooth fairy, is to entertain and make you laugh.
SI.com: Has it been an intentional move on your part to do so-called “kids movies,” or are those the best scripts you’ve gotten? Continue reading »

Dwayne Johnson: ‘I Don’t Mind Making Fun of Myself’
by Jeanne Wolf | Parade Magazine
Dwayne Johnson has long since left his WWE persona as “The Rock” behind to pursue a big screen career. Now, he’s playing a sporting hero on the big screen as a mean-spirited ice-hockey player turned tooth fairy.
Johnson told Parade.com’s Jeanne Wolf that he didn’t mind donning a pink tutu and wings in The Tooth Fairy, if it meant bringing the message about the power of dreams to a young audience.
Tooth Fairy memories.
“I absolutely believed when I was young because the Tooth Fairy was always good to me. The Tooth Fairy generally left me a dollar or two dollars and, as a kid, that was a lot of money. Now, with inflation, I guess maybe the price has gone up and sometimes there’s more money under the pillow, but then sometimes it can be a treat, something cool. What if the Tooth Fairy left an iPod? That would be cool wouldn’t it?” Continue reading »
Dwayne Johnson doesn’t need your advice, thank you very much.
In fact, you could say — in wrestling parlance, anyway — that The Rock-turned-movie-star pretty much drop-kicked my ad hoc attempt at a career intervention.
In his latest family flick, “Tooth Fairy,” Johnson stars as Derek Thompson, a minor league hockey enforcer who’s magically pegged to serve time as the mythical winged-one. The film, which received the backing of the NHL, marks the acting debuts of pros Kyle Quincey and John Zeiler, as well as skateboarder Ryan Sheckler, who plays hotshot teammate Mick Donnelly. Also featured are Stephen Merchant and Julie Andrews as Johnson’s fairy caseworker and fairy boss, respectively. Ashley Judd plays his love interest, and Billy Crystal has a pretty funny turn as his fairy-gadgets guy. Continue reading »
Congratulations Sabrina you are our February 2012 DJ fan of the month!
This is why she is Dwayne Fan of The Month:
‘I have been a fan of The Rock, Dwayne Johnson, since i have been 9 years old. Now being 24, i have grown to appreciate and look up to him not only as a role model , but as someone that i consider a HUGE influence of who i am today. I used to go to RAW and Smackdown as a young girl, crying over just being in the same room as him. My family would know to buy my only his merchandise for holidays and special events. To this day, people still admire me for my dedication as a fan, and my willingness to one day meet him in person. I dont even know what i would do if i did, i know someone would have to catch me when i fall, becuase i know i would be hitting the floor!”
