Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has taken to his official Twitter page to respond to CM Punk’s unscripted promo from this past week’s edition of WWE RAW, part of which included Punk saying that Rock vs. John Cena at WrestleMania 28 as the main event makes him sick:
“CM Punk: it’s simple business – The Rock is the main event at Wrestlemania cause it draws more money in one night, then u will in lifetime.”
If you didn’t catch what CM Punk said about The Rock read below:
After the match, Punk takes a mic and has a seat at the top of the ramp. Punk is wearing a Steve Austin t-shirt. Punk says before he leaves, he has some things he wants to get off his chest. Punk says he doesn’t hate Cena, he actually likes him more than most people in the back. Punk hates the idea that Cena is the best, because he’s not. Punk says he’s the best, the best in the world. Punk says Cena is better than one thing – kissing Vince McMahon’s ass. Punk says Cena is as good at kissing Vince’s ass than Hulk Hogan was. Punk also brings up The Rock being Vince’s ass kisser. Punk says he is the best wrestler in the world and has been since day 1 of walking into this company. Punk brings up how Paul Heyman saw something in him. Punk says yea, I’m a Heyman guy. Punk says Brock Lesnar was also a Heyman guy and he left. Punk says the difference is, he’s leaving with the WWE Title. Cena is still trying to recover in the ring. Punk says he has tried to grab so many of Vince’s imaginary brass rings and that’s just what they are – imaginary. Punk says he’s proved he’s the best in the ring, on the mic and even on commentary. Punk says he’s barely promoted, not on any WrestleMania posters, no opening videos, no promo cups and things like that. Punk says he isn’t on Conan or Fallon, but should be. The fact that The Rock is in the WrestleMania 28 main event and not him makes him sick. Punk says the ones cheering him right now are one of the biggest reasons he’s leaving. He says they’re the ones sipping out of those promo cups and then trying to get him to sign it at the airport so they can sell it on Ebay. Punk says he’s leaving with the WWE Title and maybe will defend it in New Japan or Ring of Honor. Punk says hi to Colt Cabana. Punk says Vince will make money despite himself. Punk calls Vince a millionaire who should be a billionaire but he’s not because he surrounds himself with people like John Laurinaitis. Punk says WWE could be better once Vince is dead but it will be ran by his idiotic daughter Stephanie McMahon and Triple H. Punk goes on and they cut his mic and then go to black. RAW is off the air.
Maybe some of you won’t like what I think about that but here we go!
This promo was EPIC and certainly one of the best promo ever. Punk made history that night. I never saw a show ending that way.
That was the kind of promo The Rock or Steve Austin could have done back on the Attitude Era days. Except that he was PG doing it!
The great thing about this promo is that we don’t know if it was shoot or work, or a little bit of both. Punk is a man of passion. He truly loves wrestling and he doesn’t see himself as an entertainer but just as a wrestler. He doesn’t do that for the money or to get famous, but because that’s his dream.
And he was right about some things there. He was right about Cena and he was right about himself. He’s just the best in the ring right now.
About Dwayne now: he was indeed a Vince’s ass kisser at some point and now that they’re friends well being friend with the boss always means kissing ass for the others employees!! lol
I love The Rock since day 1 but I didn’t really like his answer to Punk. Punk did talk about talent, passion, skills and the answer is about money… When he came back last february Dwayne said it was not for the money so I was a little disappointed by this argument…
The Rock is my all time favorite and Punk is my current favorite (and one of my 5 all-time fav’ too). And a year ago I met Punk in a comic books store in Chicago. He was not CM Punk, just a random guy. We talked a little and he was funny, smart and sweet (yes I swear! lol). And I know that he actually likes The Rock and talking trash about people is a part of his heel job! lol
I think when the Rock came back in February he said he wasn’t back for the money (meaning for himself) but that he had returned for the fans. But that the WWE benefits money wise more from the Rock appearances than with anyone else. So I’m not so sure he was directing his “money” comment towards his own personal benefits but toward the benefits of the WWE.
Either way he has drawn a lot of fans back to the WWE and a lot of new fans as well. Me being one of them – sadly I only watch RAW if the Rock is making an appearance.
Sure but as a WWE fan I don’t like this answer even if I totally understand what you just said
Punk is one of the reasons why I’m still watching and he wasn’t afraid to speak his mind that night. I respect that – even if it’s a part of his storyline! lol

Everyone wants a piece of The Rock~ sorry don’t mean to be silly on such a serious matter for a lot of people. Basically, how I see it with my narrow mind is The Rock generates money. Who can denied that and everyone who jumps at the shot of mentioning him in a negative or positive light gets publicity. I know they hope for positive publicity, but it looks like this shot back fired. I hope Dwayne Shake it off- its Just business at the end of the day. What do I know (nothing) I don’t have the history nor passion behind what was said or done. Right now I’m celebrating our friend’s success in his career and I hope you all join me
In the end they all want money and fame even yes CM Punk. He’s not in the olympics competing as a wrestler he’s wrestling in the WWE and if you are there it’s for the publicity the money the want of being loved by fans. So do I think people are jealous of the Rock absolutely. They’ve all kissed the bosses ass. They may say they don’t but they sure do because if they didn’t they wouldn’t be in the WWE. Punk is no Hulk Hogan that he wouldn’t have to share his dues. I think people like Cena or whatever are just upset that Dwayne got to leave WWE with his big success and still holding the fans love. There is no doubt his appearances are adored by fans more than what they bring in every week sorry. What was Dwayne supposed to stick around until he was old and crippled in an industry that has no use for you once you aren’t the “It” guy breaking your neck every week. Was he supposed to wait for one of those ring “Accidents” to befall him before he was allowed to venture out. He did what he did for the WWE just as the WWE gave him things in return. Finally one got away with being a huge success outside the ring. Without a severe injury I might add. I’m sure they all wish they had the same priviledge. Just my thoughts on all the noise makers about boo the Rock this and that.
WELL I THINK DJ JUST WANT TO FIRE BACK ON CM PUNK WORDS AGAINST HIM, ITS A SIMPLE ANSWER BUT HAS A DEEP MEANING…. YES, HE DOESN’T COMEBACK FOR THE MONEY OR ANYTHING BUT FOR US, FOR THE FANS…. HIS ANSWER ON PUNK IS JUST SIMPLY SAYING THAT BETWEEN THE TWO OF THEM, HE IS MUCH A BIGGER STAR THAT CAN GENERATE MORE MONEY THAN PUNK HONESTLY SPEAKING!!!! AND DON’T FORGET, THIS IS NOT JUST A BATTLE OF TWO ERA BUT ALSO FOR RESPECT AND TRUE CHARACTER…. SO PUNK, SHUT UP AND JUST WATCH WM28 OK! AND ORTON, STOP KISSING CENA’S A**…. ALL PEOPLE KNOW WHO IS THE BEST, NO NEED FOR TALKS…. CAN YOU SMELL IT?
ON THE OTHER SIDE, CM PUNK GOT A POINT ON CENA, WHY HE ALWAYS WIN AND BE THE HERO IN THE END…. THAT’S WHY DJ CALL IT BUSSINESS, , AND THAT’S THE REASON WHY CENA TURNING HEEL IS SO MUCH OVERDUE………. UNLIKE THE ROCK, HEEL OR FACE, HE CAN CARRY THE COMPANY….. HE ALWAYS BRING IT!!!!!!

Congratulations Lela you are our May 2012 DJ fan of the month!
This is why she is Dwayne Fan of The Month:
TALOFA LAVA! I watched Dwayne Johnson during the Attitude Era and I became a huge fan. One of my favorite matches is when he wrestles Mankind in an empty area for the WWF Champion belt. Even though he lost it was one of the funniest and creative matches ever. From being a wrestler to an actor his story inspires me because he is the result that with hard work anything is possible. He had many setbacks in his life but he strives and perseveres in achieving his goals. I am a huge fan because he stays true to himself and a very humble person. I love the fact that he represents his cultures and being Samoan he shows the respect, faith, and pride of our people. Overall, Dwayne is unstoppable and will inspire future generations to come. TEAM BRING IT! ALL DAY EVERYDAY!

Ok I’m done now

I tend to agree with you. I was let down by his answer.

But I don’t think that his answer really matters because Punk’s promo was not against Dwayne in particular…
I think when the Rock came back in February he said he wasn’t back for the money (meaning for himself) but that he had returned for the fans.
